Flirting with the right body language

The first stepping stone is to develop a mental awareness of your own body language and signals. The simplest way to do this is to look at yourself in the mirror and study your own posture. Your posture will tell you how confident you are about yourself. Take note the following body parts:

• Head - Do you keep your head up? Or is it facing downwards?
• Shoulders - Are they pulled back? Or are you slouching?
• Chest - Do you throw out your chest?
• Back - Is your back straight? Or are you leaning forward?

A simple fix to the above areas of your body will help you feel more confident about yourself. Here is what you should do:

• Always keep your head up
• Pull your shoulders back, as you do this, your chest will be pushed out automatically.
• Make sure you keep your back straight. Do not lean forwards or bend too far back.

The next area to work on is your first impression. You need to get your body language right or else the girl will very easily lose interest in you. (And probably won't stick around to find out that you're actually a very talented guy)

Here are some great techniques to use on your approach:

• Keep a friendly smile when you're starting the conversation with the girl.
• If she leans forwards towards you, you mirror her actions by leaning closer to her as well. This is a great way to show that you want to get close with her
• Remain eye contact, and occasionally shift your vision towards her lips, hair and nose. If the girl sees you doing this, she'd know that you're checking her out.

The above techniques are great but some guys still fail to create a great first impression with a girl. Why is that? It's because they do not understand this last rule.

Some guys spend all day long trying to improve themselves by working on their own body language. What they failed to do was to spend some time to study the girl's body language before stepping out. It's important to know that if a girl is not in the mood for romance or that there is something important that is on top of her mind, she'd most likely want to be left alone.

Here's an example:

If the girl you're about to approach has her arms crossed and her lips are pursed disapprovingly, she has placed herself in a "defensive position" which means that she probably doesn't want anyone to bother her at the time. In this case, what you should do is wait until she uncross her arms and a smile returns back on her face or try to approach her another time.

Please understand that your timing might not be the same as her timing. Your chances of scoring a date would be much higher if you match your timing with her timing.
